What Fuels the Fight – Blog by Robbie Eagles
I felt compelled to type up my current state of mind after reading the announcement for my match on the 28th of September at The Cube in Campbelltown. You know, currently living almost a stones throw away from Campbelltown, this event will almost have a hometown return feeling for me. It marks my first match for PWA since returning from my tenure in Japan wrestling for the ZERO1 Pro Wrestling promotion.
The feeling of excitement quickly went away when I bared eyes to the graphic the PWA Facebook and Twitter began to promote. Not only am I being forced into a match with someone whom I hold dearly as my best friend, but two people I absolutely despise are also in this match. A Four Way Showdown is what they are called, and a Showdown it will be indeed. Mark Davis knows anytime we set foot in the ring together, we’re looking to be pure competitors with one another. There isn’t ill will behind any of our actions towards the other when it’s inside the squared circle.
Sean Kustom & Tama Williams on the other, ill will doesn’t even begin to describe the actions I make against either of you. Throughout the year of 2011, both of you seemed to take up a lot of my time on separate occasions. Kustom, alongside the man whom calls himself a “champion” Mick Moretti thought that my tag team partner Mat Diamond and I would be great stepping stones. Their idea, steal our belts after blindsiding us, call yourselves the
“champions” without ever really earning it. Funny how that seems to be a trend for one of the Gatecrashers.
Tama Williams was a completely different story. He thought I was a fraud. He thought I STOLE his spot in the CHIKARA Young Lions Cup Tournament in the USA, but the funniest thing was, it was never his spot. Nor was it mine before I got on a plane and got myself to CHIKARA. It was up for grabs, but again, I think jealousy and the inability to be victorious and make a name for himself overcome any inkling of earning his way to the top.
However, despite all of this, I truly need to see the bigger picture. There’s no denying the outcome of this match could have huge implementations on the PWA Heavyweight Championship picture. I have already stated in a previous blog on this website my absolute desire to get the opportunity for a title match, which I still feel has been severely overlooked. I’m sorry to Mark Davis, I know how much he wants that championship back. He even Skype’d with me while I was overseas to tell me directly. Kustom & Tama will certainly help ignite the fire inside me to push through and do what I have done before. Defeat them, and gain the victory for myself.
Mark Davis, I cannot wait to get in the ring with you. Tama & Sean, I am definitely going to try my hardest to kick you both in the face as hard as I can. The goal is to win, the achievement comes after that. Mick Moretti, Damian Slater, it doesn’t matter who comes out on top. Whoever it is better read this closely though: I really hope you’re ready for what I’m bringing to PWA this time around.
